Essay On Independence Day

Independence Day of India is celebrated on 15th August every year. On this occasion, people celebrate their freedom from British rule. In 1947, India became independent from the British Empire. After independence, India was divided into two parts – India and Pakistan.

On this day we pay tribute to the great leaders who fought for the country’s independence. Independence Day of India is celebrated in different ways across the country. In some places, the celebrations start early in the morning with cultural programs, while in others they begin late at night with fireworks displays.

India is a pluralistic society where people follow different religions. India is a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual and multi-cultural nation.  Diversity in culture is the main strength that bound us together into a great nation. India is a superpower.

In my opinion, Independence Day should not only be celebrated by the government, but also by the citizens of the country. Citizens should take pride in their country and show respect toward their leaders. I think that if the citizens of the country were to do this, then the government would have no choice but to follow suit.

On this occasion, let us salute those brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the country. Let us also pray for the peace and prosperity of the nation.
