Deepawali or festival of light is one of the great festivals celebrated everywhere in India during the new moon of autumn every year. During the festival the weather generally remains cool and pleasant all over the country. Deepawali is not only a festival of light, it is a festival of joy and people all over the country indulge themselves in different festivities and set programmes on the occasion.
Every one wears new clothes and delicious food is prepared in every household. Gifts and presents are given to friends and relatives to mark the occasion. But the most beautiful aspect of this festival is the illumination of shops, houses, buildings and markets with bright and colorful lights at night. The dark night of Deepawali sparkles with innumerable lights and fireworks while both children and adults indulge themselves with crackers.
